If you need some extra help at home because of a disability or illness, you may be entitled to the UK Governments Attendance Allowance
The Attendance Allowance is a benefit for over 65’s whether you need help in the day, the night or both. The money doesn’t have to be spent on a carer – it could be put towards something that can make your life a lot more independent for longer
It is not means tested, therefore it doesn’t matter how much savings you have or what your income is
It won’t reduce any other income you are receiving
It is tax-free
If you are eligible to receive the Attendance Allowance you may become entitled to other benefits available
If you need help either in the day or at night you could get £58.70 a week. If you need help both in the day and the night you could get £87.65 a week. The benefit is paid every 4 weeks
